Interbrand are the new hotness

I’m breaking a ban about a certain design company, but here’s hoping this post is taken in the nice manner it’s intended. Next week I’m heading to an AGDA event where Damian Borchok, CEO (what an awesome title) of Interbrand Australia is sharing his wisdom on how to run a successful brand studio. I’m dragging along the entire management team of THERE to hear from Damian, I strongly suggest you do too.
To me, Interbrand is the story in Australian design and branding of the last few years. From being on the brink of closure in Australia, Interbrand now dominate much of the Aussie design media, win awards left right and centre and have helped successfully rebrand some of Australia’s biggest brands. Their work for Telstra was quite transformational, and left many in the industry scratching their heads as to how such a conservative organisation could suddenly look so cool. They’ve even pinched a few staff from me too. Unfortunately in the past, my well intended jabs, mocking and sarcasm weren’t taken in the light humoured way they were intended - one might say they take themselves a little too seriously…
But, much respect and applause to Interbrand for sharing some of the secrets to their considerable success. There are tickets still available it seems - why haven’t you booked one yet? Go get em!
