Observed: Speed Creating

I noticed this on the blog Variations on Normal. Liked the concept and wondering if I might give it a go myself. My favourite sort of creativity is this sort of humble, gestural form — especially in the arts where a small action creates something engaging, moving or memorable.

The observationalist nature of the work, seeing potential in the mundane, is particularly enjoyable. It’s a reminder of the brilliant works by Mr Danial Eatock, a well known designer/artist and inventor of the ‘archetypal, invisible website template’ Indexhibit.

This is my other favourite idea in let’s call it ‘small gesture creativity’ - the hidden gem for the random stranger. It reminded me of an artwork in NYC where an artist replaced all the mundane warning signs on a train and made them nice little tips on how to brighten each other’s day. The name escapes me and for some reason my Google searches are turning up nothing.

If anyone know what I am referring to, please leave a comment! Much appreciated ;—).
